Textile artist.
"Anna Ekholm (f.1978) är textilkonstnär och lite av en estetisk rebell. Mycket av hennes arbeten kretsar kring frågor om status, god smak och synen på barnsliga och naiva uttryck."
-Tomas Asplund Gustafsson, intendent Skövde konstmuseum, från "Fem smyckar Skövde" 2009.
"Anna Ekholm (f.1978) is a textile artist and a bit of an aesthetic rebel. A lot of her work revolves around questions about status, good taste and the view of childish and naive aesthetics."

Artist statement:
My work is about constructing a parallell reality. Themes like utopia and flight takes form in the shape of stark colour clashes and patterns. Joy and immediacy. References to music and film are central. The aesthetics of the electro scene and its pumping intensity. Psychadelic underground movies from the 70s like Jodorowsky, Kenneth Anger as well as Sun Ra's Space is the Place. Futuristic utopian architecture like Oscar Niemeyer´s overgrown ideal city Brasilia and the mad visions of Archigram.
With a textile tactile materiality and expression of sculpture and installation in knit, fabric, acrylic glass and light. The childhood reminiscence of the secret world and in-between reality and fantasy.
